TV TAX - Things you should know
On April 1, 2009, the province-wide electronics collection and recycling program in Ontario will begin.
This program will operate similar to the existing Provincial electronics programs in that an Environmental Handling Fee (EHF) will be charged on the sale of new obligated electronics products and remitted to Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES), the Provincial stewardship agency, to fund the collection and recycling of these products at their end-of-life.
The obligated products and fees listed below will be maintained in PCI's SAP system and any sales in the Province of Ontario will be subject to the EHF, which will appear as a separate line item on the invoice. Customers/Dealers that register with the OES program as a 'Remitter' are exempt from the EHF, but must have a valid OES Remitters number listed in their SAP Customer Master file. Note that the fee will apply to both consumer and commercial products.

Typically PCI would provide a notice to our dealers of the pending program, however as full program details have not yet been released by OES we are unable to provide further information at this time. Still, you may receive inquiries directly from customers/dealers on the program or the EHF, in which case you can direct them to the OES website (http://www.ontarioelectronicstewardship.ca/).
